FAQs

General Studio Enquiries

What are the opening hours?

Our regular opening hours are 8am-6pm for the studio and 9.30am-5.30pm for the co-working space. If you need the studio for additional hours we can arrange overtime up to 9pm.

Can I view the studio space before booking?

Certainly – please contact us to arrange a complimentary viewing of the studio.

Can I hire the studio for an hour?

We offer ½ day and full-day bookings rather than single-hour sessions. A half-day is either 8.00am-1pm or 1pm-6pm.

Is the studio soundproofed for audio recording?

Yes, the studio is sound-proofed and has audio panels. We have done everything we can to attenuate sound, but cannot guarantee that the soundproofing is perfect. If you would like to come and check in advance of a booking, just get in touch and we can arrange a visit. See our studio specs for more detailed information on our soundproofing.

What services do you supply?

Nine Elms Studio is available for dry hire and wet hire. We can supply everything from crewing to full production services including e-learning content, interviews, presentations, multi-cam filming, streaming, and more. All of our wet hire production services are supplied by Chocolate Films.

How much do you charge?

Our prices vary based on the hire period and any add-ons you wish to make on your order. See our studio price list for more detailed information.

What happens if I need to cancel or rebook a booking?

We consider a booking to be confirmed when we receive a deposit payment. If you cancel within 2 weeks of the booking we reserve the right to charge 25% of the total booking value.  If you cancel 7 days before the date of the booking a charge of 50% of the total booking value is liable. We understand that dates can change, so we may be able to revisit these charges if the booking is rescheduled rather than cancelled.

How do I get to the studio?

Please see our Location page for full address and navigation details.

Is there on-site parking?

There is very limited parking at the studio itself. If unable to secure a spot, there is also paid parking at the Waitrose opposite the US Embassy nearby.

Does studio hire come with equipment?

The dry hire currently comes without equipment, but additional kit is available to hire. We have a ceiling grid and plan to install a fixed rig in late 2023.

Can I bring my own crew and equipment?

Yes, we offer both wet hire and dry hire options.

What are your payment terms?

50% payment is required on confirmed booking, with the other 50% taken 14 days before the booking date. If the booking is made less than 14 days before the booking, it is payable in full. We do not provide credit facilities and the full balance is due on the first day of the period when the facilities are to be used by the hirer. Any additional costs/ overtime should be settled on the final day of the hire. The hire shall be subject to VAT.

Can we do live streaming in the studio?

Yes - we have 2 ethernet ports in the space, with superfast fibre broadband fitted for purpose.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer discounts for community engagement projects, charity projects, and projects that support sustainability initiatives. If any of these apply to you, just let us know when making your booking.

Co-Working Membership Scheme

What do I get if I sign up for the Nine Elms co-working membership?

The membership includes access to low-cost desk space, business mentorship and reduced-price studio and kit hire. Contact us for more details about these discounts and perks.

Can I cancel the membership?

Yes, you are free to cancel at any time.

How often can I use the desk space?

You can use it as little or as often as you like. The desks are available on a pay-per-use basis, so you only pay for what you use, when you use it.

How do I book a desk?

We have an interactive booking system. Just choose your desk and the time to reserve your space. Payment is automatically taken three hours before the booking – you’re free to cancel before this period, however.

Can I have meetings with clients in the office?

Yes, we have a public area with tables that can be used for meetings. If the studio is not being used for a shoot, we can make that available for meetings on the day as well. We ask everyone to please email us beforehand if you wish to bring clients to the office.

Can I use Nine Elms Studio’s address for post and deliveries?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer this within the first six months but we can review that later on in your membership.

Are the workshops open to anyone?

Some workshops will be open to all, others may designate an age range and/or ability level. This information will be communicated on each workshop as it becomes available.

How do I sign up for a workshop?

The sign-up form will be published with the workshop details.

Who is hosting the workshops?
