The Aputure Nova P300C

We’ve upgraded our studio lighting setup with two Aputure Nova P300C panels, mounted to the ceiling grid. These full-colour LED lights bring flexibility, speed, and control to a wide range of productions. Whether you’re hiring additional Aputure lighting from us, such as the Aputure 300x or 600x, or bringing your own Aputure fixtures, everything can be easily connected to an iPad for unified control through Sidus Link.

Whether you’re using Nine Elms Studio to shoot a brand film, host a livestream, shoot a product catalogue, fashion editorial or create content for social media, these lights will take your lighting design to another level, enabling premium looks otherwise impossible with traditional lighting systems.

The new setup provides soft, even light from above and a clean, open floor space for your crew to move freely. Each panel produces the full RGBWW colour spectrum, allowing you to switch instantly from natural daylight to rich, creative tones. With the iPad and Sidus Link app, you can fine-tune brightness, hue, and effects in real time, store presets, or even sync lighting to music or motion.

Designed for modern production

Our goal with this upgrade was to make high-end lighting fast, reliable, and intuitive. The ceiling-mounted setup keeps the floor clear and saves valuable setup time, while providing control that’s typically reserved for larger productions.

The system is ideal for a wide range of shoots, from brand content and livestreams to training films and social campaigns. With the Aputure Nova panels, you can achieve broadcast-quality light in minutes.

Why this matters for your hire

Corporate and brand videos

The Novas deliver flattering, even light for interviews and discussions. You can keep the key light neutral while adding subtle colour to the background that reflects your brand palette.

Live streaming and webinars

Lighting consistency is crucial for live content. The ceiling setup provides balanced, flicker-free illumination that keeps everyone on camera evenly lit. Switching between looks, from warm conversational tones to cooler technical ones, takes seconds.

Product and e-commerce shoots

Accurate colour rendering ensures your products look true to life. You can quickly adjust temperature or hue to match packaging colours or introduce background washes for variation between product lines.

Creative shoots and social content

With full-colour control, the lights become a creative tool. You can shift tone mid-shot, or build light transitions that follow your story or rhythm. For music videos, effects can even be synced to a track using Sidus Link.

Quick setup, consistent results

Because the panels are overhead, there is no need to build a lighting rig or work around stands. You can walk in, adjust a few settings, and start shooting. For repeat projects, the app lets you save lighting presets so you can return to the same look next time.

The lights are also colour-accurate (CRI/TLCI 95+), meaning skin tones and product colours will stay consistent across shoots. That is especially useful for ongoing campaigns or multi-day productions where continuity matters.

Tips for making the most of the system

Our lights at Nine Elms Studio offer a huge amount of flexibility, but you’ll need to come with a clear idea and plan to get the most out of them:

  1. Consider your background: With coloured overhead lighting, ensure your backdrops (white, black or coloured) behave as expected under tinted light. A white backdrop will pick up colour cast; check how that fits your desired look.

  2. Test skin tones: While coloured lighting is attractive, for interviews or on-camera talent you want skin tones to appear natural. Use neutral key lighting for the presenter and reserve colour for fill or background.

  3. Use the overhead advantage: Without floor-mounted lights hogging space, think about movement in your frame—if you plan presenters walking or guests moving, the overhead lights stay consistent, removing the need to relocate stands.

  4. Leverage pre-sets: If you’re shooting multiple scenes or shifting from one look to another (e.g., interview → product demo → panel discussion), programme your lighting states in advance so transitions are smooth.

  5. Communicate with your crew: Make sure your DOP or lighting technician knows the ceiling panel system is available and how to control it—this will speed set up and ensure you get full value.

  6. Sidus link, Aputures app, is what you will use to control the lights, it can be connected to other Aputure lighting equipment you have. So know what you plan on using for your shoot!
